• I will read the passage below about “Lip Reading” technique:
• Lip reading, also known as speech reading, is a technique to understand what people say by visually interpreting the movement of their lips, faces, and tongues when normal sound is not available. It is an alternative means of communication for deaf people or those with a hearing impairment. However; some people with fully functioning hearing process some speech information by lip reading. Although lip reading is a great way for those who have difficulty with hearing to communicate with loved ones. It’s not always 100% accurate and reliable. It’s estimated that only 30% to 40% of speech sounds can be lip read even under the best conditions and extra information is usually  required to understand what is being said.
