The myth or false narrative surrounding this image of a symbolic Uighur woman or Uighur Muslim are the fallacy that it is a protest picture with official approval. There are rumours that the Chinese government has authorised or approved of this image as an acceptable protest symbol. Denotation

The Amnesty International logo features a candle surrounded by barbed wire. The denotation of the logo is a candle represents light, hope, freedom and warmth. Meanwhile the barbed wire symbolize prison, confinement, oppression and restriction. Therefore the combination of these two elements denotes a sense of hop and freedom emerging from a situation of oppression and confinement.

Connotation

The logo are inspired by the Chinese proverb "Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness". Since the barbed wire represent the darkness and hopelessness of people imprisoned unfairly, the candle on the other hand symbolizes the commitment of remembering these political prisoners and bringing them hope for fair treatment and eventual release.

Myth

The myth or urban legend surrounding the Amnesty International logo claims that the wire part of the logo represents a person's body, with the loop depicting a person's head bent down, and the candle symbolizing hope or a light in a dark situation.

Watermelon is used as the symbol of Palestinian Solidarity Movement. The sliced watermelon's red flesh, green-white rind, and black seeds resemble the colors of the Palestinian flag. The use of the fruit also prevents contents about the genocide happening in Palestine to be shadow banned by the social media's algorithm and community guidelines.

Israel prohibited the Palestinian flag in Gaza and the West Bank following the 1967 Middle East War. Three art galleries in Ramallah were shut down by the military in 1980 for showing political art and employing the red, green, black, and white colors of the Palestinian flag. Subsequently, an Israeli officer informed one of the painters that they were not allowed to use the flag's colors and that they required military authorization to display. Now, people all around the world openly displayed watermelons as a form of protest and stand in solidarity with those in Palestine.
People who are not aware of what's happening in Palestine might think that this symbol stands for war or terrorism. However, this symbol represents justice for those who are suffering in the genocide happening in Palestine. This symbol also unites us to fight for the human rights of people in Palestine and stand in solidarity together with our brothers and sisters in Gaza.

BLACK LIVES MATTER

"Black Lives Matter" refers to a literal meaning of the phrase. The origin of this symbol ascended in 2013 and become a worldwide havoc after an incident that took a young, African American teenage boy Trayvon Martin's precious life. In this sense, it means that the lives of black people matter, valuable and deserved to be treated just like everyone else despite the racial barriers. The phrase is a statement of fact, emphasizing that Black lives are equally important as any other lives.

The connotation of Black Lives Matter goes beyond the literal meaning and encompasses the emotional, social, and cultural association attached to the phrase. This movement is the living evidence of unity and solidarity among marginalized community.

However, the myths surrounding this movements are the misconceptions and false narratives that has been perpetuated about the movement which includes "Black Lives Matter" is a divisive movement that pits Black people against other racial groups. There's also some that thinks that 'Black Lives Matter" means only Black people's lives matter and that other lives don't matter.

Human Rights is believed to be a very famous topic even until today. What are Human Rights? Human Rights are often misunderstood as being limited to a specific aspect of life. Human Rights is more than just our rights as a human being, as a consumer, it is more than the education system, more than the healthcare, more than legal protection. Human rights encompass a much broader scope of fundamental freedoms and entitlements such as freedoms, the ability to make our own choices and voices to be heard and these are essential to human's dignity and well-being. Human Rights are applicable to everyone regardless of their race, skin color, sex, language and religion. In essence, Human Rights is about recognizing the inherent dignity and worth of every individual and ensuring everyone to have the access resources and opportunities to live a life of dignity and respect. The objective of this analysis is also to promote and protect the rights of vulnerable, groups, such as women, children, people of color, person with disabilities and indigenous people who has historically faced discrimination.
