Ahmet Ümit is a turkish crime writer but i haven't heard of his name until i've researched what kind of crime novels we have. I've read his famous book's summary and i can guarantee that you won't regret to read it. It is worth reading. To make u have a small knowledge of the book i'm gonna give u some informations about it.
The book starts with following sentence: ""Ben zalimler çağında yaşayan bir alçaktım." I did not translate it 'cause if i did it would lose it's magic. The reason why he started his masterpiece with this sentence is: Patasana; who is the main character and also the name giving of the book lived during Hittite period is headwriter in the palace. His girlfriend sacrifice herself for their love while Patasana is hiding behind the walls to grow in the palace and make himself seem like a worthful person, although he is not. The topic of the book is: an archaeologist group come to Gaziantep to dig out the soil and they find a tablette whis is written by Patasana earlier in Hitties period. on the tablette Patasana wrote that turkish sentence i told u earlier. After they find this tablette, some weird stuff around the village starts like 3 murder that they can't solve. Who is the murder?
well this for sure does not stay as a secret. Though they are going to figure it out after they lose one of their friends from the group. :)

He is one of the most famous Turkish crime writers. I met him trough his “ Kirlangiç Çigligi” book this summer. It was actually a gift from my cousin. He said that It was book full of adventure so I started reading it immediately. I must say that I finished it quickly. The book is about a killer who has a past with child abusment. But Ahmet Ümit once said : You don’t know which one is worse child abusment or people who think these kind of things are okay... So I think the book is not about only this serial killer it also shows us the mentality of society.
I strongly recommend it to those who like reading crime novels.
- ilayda

Honestly, I didn’t read any crime book except one. It is written by John Verdon. He was born in 1942. As I learned from his biography, writing a mystery novel wasn’t his idea, it was his wife’s offer. He inspired by his own paranoia and he wrote 30 books. Most known are “Think of a number (which I have read)”, “Let The Devil Sleep” and “Peter Pan Must Die”.

I read an interview about him and I saw a very interesting question that answered by an unexpected way.

“When you begin – do you already know the end?

─No. In my own imaginative process, things come to me in bits and pieces. The characters determine the ending.”

It surprised me because I always thought that the crime writers plan everything before starting to write a book.

My favourite crime novel author is Michael Palmer. Actually he had worked as a doctor before he started writing crime novels. Because of his job he used medical terms in his books a lot. Unfortunately we lost him in 2013. "The First Patient" is his most known crime novel (also one of my favourite crime novels) this book tells the story of two classmates. With time they grow up and one of them becomes the most famous neurologist of the USA (Gabe Singleton) and other one becomes the "First Patient" I mean the president of USA(Andrew Stoddard). One day president's private doctor suddenly disappears and even "Secret Service" cannot find him. President decides to employ his old friend Gabe as his private doctor cause he feels something about his health and he thinks that he can only count on his friend. Gabe finds out that the president is getting crazy but not because of the natural causes, sometimes he has attacks and seems weird and neither dead nor alive. Even if Gabe has the power to invoke the Twenty-fifth Amendment to transfer presidential power to the Vice President, he decides to find the real cause of president's madness. -Nuri Çinar
