Students should create a report based on their research of a football marketing campaign and its many elements.<br><br>Students develop critical and creative thinking skills through language learning and the process of inquiry.<br><br><strong>Learner profile: </strong>Reflective: students should reflect on their own relationship with football culture and how it impacts their lives. Balanced: how can students create a sense of balance between sport and work in their busy lives?Communicators: how can students communicate an awareness of the effects of football to their peers in the school community? (Text type and language usage: register/diction/syntax etc)<br><br><strong>Conceptual understandings:<br>Audience:</strong> Who is the core text aimed at, as well as the production text types created.<br><strong>Purpose:</strong> What does the author of the core text want to communicate to the reader, as well as the production text types created<br><br><strong>Meaning:</strong> Is the language in the core text accessible, and how should it be adapted to meet the production texts' target audience/s?<br><br><strong>Links to CAS: </strong>What can students do to help encourage younger students to take more on an active role in sport?  What awareness campaign could be effective in their school?<br><br><strong>Links to TOK</strong>: What kind of experience is mentioned in the text? How can a student know this?<br><br>Are there any ethical concerns with footbal that should be addressed? E.g equality? Racism? Gang culture? Domestic violence - alchohol and drug abuse. Are any of these issues glamorised in any way? Materialism<br><br><strong>Production:</strong>Create an <strong>informational poster </strong>to be distributed around a school utilizing the information gleaned from the ‘Teen Stress’ leaflet (see PDF upload ‘Healthy Lifestyle: Stress Management’). Students can select either a primary or secondary school student audience.  Adapt language use to suit text type and audience.<br><br>Create an <strong>informational pamphlet</strong> to be made available to students at school in the counselling office (target audience = high school), utilizing the information gleaned from the ‘Teen Stress’ leaflet (see PDF upload ‘Healthy Lifestyle: Stress Management’).
