A summary:

Our game's main theme was shapes and animals. (A physical play game and integration of other subjects)

Our initial plan was a relay game but later we realised the children were fidgety and the relay may have been too long so we decided to modify and improvise on having a station-based activity.

Our activity involved various materials for the children to manipulate and form shapes with.
The materials were strings, ice-cream sticks and cones.

Following after constructing the shapes, they would have to do an animal movement around it before moving onto the next station.

We encouraged co-operative play. Vygotsky's social cultural theory, scaffolding learning.

Our main theme was on animal movements. the game was for children to take turns rolling two dices: 1 with dices and 1 with animal movements. children are to move like the animal according to the number on the dice. EG: fly like a bird twice.
during the activity, children were actively participating. they were were able to take turns using the dice. exhibited social skills. however, there were some that did not seem interested as they were distracted from another group. we tried to engaged children back in the activity.
overall, our objectives were met as children were able to take turns and do the actions according to the number on the dice.

when children were split into 2 groups, Group A (blocks) and Group B (colouring & writing).
Group A original plan was for children to continue playing with the dices however deviated from the plan and children played with the blocks instead.
Group A:
- engaged with blocks
- parallel play: beside but not together
- made animal enclosure with blocks by themselves
Group B:
- some able to write correctly on the handwriting guidelines
- some needed help
- scaffolding: teacher guide them

then 2 groups switch
Group A:
-instead of playing with blocks, they played with paper cups (away from original plan)
- use paper cups to do patterning, sorting, staackiing
- associative play: decided as a group what they wanted to make, such as patterning and sorting, cooperated with one another to make the pattern and stack the cups, encourage one another and gave directions as to what they each should do.

theories:
Piaget: egocentrism when they did not want to share the blocks with one another,
Vygotsky: scoffoldingwhen teacher helped them

Type of Play:
parallel: played with the blocks alongside one another but not together
associative: involved in what each other was doing
