Bebas Aktif consists from two Indonesian words which have their own respective meaning. "Bebas" means the freedom of Indonesia to determine what action/measure should be taken to respond to international issues and will not accept any excessive influence from Western and Eastern Bloc with their own respective ideologies. Aktif means that Indonesia will always be participating in the attempt to keep the world's peace by conducting real actions. The policies carried out by the Indonesian Government under Jokowi's leadership in responding to the Rohingya issue can be analyzed in full from the Free and Active definition of the concept of Indonesian foreign policy:

1. The Indonesian government emphasizes the need for consensus and the involvement of the Myanmar government in forming resolutions both in regional and international forums. This step can be a reflection that Indonesia voices an independent resolution of the Rohingya conflict without taking sides with China or the United States. This also explains that the principle of "Bebas" in our foreign policy is still being implemented properly.

2. The Indonesian government has also taken various measures in its efforts to resolve the Rohingya problem in Myanmar. The steps taken include direct visits from the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and other diplomatic solutions such as cooperation at various levels of bilateral, multilateral, regional, and even international. This reflects the seriousness of the Indonesian Government in implementing the "Active" principle in Indonesian foreign policy.
