At the beginning of the year, I want to begin exposing students to different technology tools slowly. We will start with basics tools they have used before (Word, PowerPoint, etc) and begin exploring tools that are similar (Google Apps, etc). By doing this, they become more comfortable in their technological skills.

By October, I want to have at minimum 2 of my independent learning stations for both math and ELA be technology based. This means that students will have to be well-versed enough in these tools in order to use them completely independently. I am considering using Padlet and Jamboard to make elementary school versions of discussion boards. I also want to use Bubbl.us, Flipgrid, and Sutori in
some capacity.

By September, I want to make at 3/5 weekly mini-lessons be technology based. By doing this, students are using technology but not completely independently. I am still available to provide assistance to students who may be struggling with technology. This includes using interactive whiteboard tools such as Nearpod, Class Flow, Smart Exchange, or LiveBoard.

By November, I want students to be able to use technology to create products that they can share with the class or post online for feedback. This entails being well versed enough in technology to use tools such as Book Creator, Canva, and Animoto. At this point, all students should be able to use and navigate technological resources independently.

By December, I want students to be able to use their technology skills to complete inquiry-based research projects and create products to share with the class. This means students will have to be able to use research sources such as Galileo, Encarta, and Cyberbee. They will also have to create a product using any of the aforementioned tools.

In conclusion, my growth plan is to scaffold student learning about technological tools and resources. My main goal is make sure students feel comfortable with using technology without any support. I also want them to be able to distinguish which tools fit best for different assignments. I hope that by building on skills each month, students become great 21st century learners.
