She grew up in a racially segregated community, which exposed her to the harsh realities of racial discrimination and injustice at an early age. Davis attended Brandeis University in Massachusetts, where she studied philosophy. Later, she pursued her graduate studies at the University of Frankfurt in Germany. When Davis returned to the US years later, she became involved in activism and joined the Communist Party and Black Panther Party. Her fame rose and became a leading figure in the Black liberation movement, advocating for the rights of African Americans. In 1970, Davis faced criminal charged and was accused of kidnapping, conspiracy, and even murder. Although she spent over a year in jail, her arrest sparked a global movement demanding her release.
