apparently HCC used to be part of HISD, but separated out with its own board of trustees in 1989. The majors offered consist of Arts, Sciences with the related disciplines, health studies, business, protective services, humanities, education, and lastly Trades with personal services. Some programs and sports that HCC provides are Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Men's Softball, and Coed Softball. The uniqueness of the college is the fact that it's a large system with departments located all over the city. Every once in a while some parts of the college celebrate the Gulfton festival .

You have to have a GED, diploma, or high school equivalent of courses to go to HCC. SAT and ACT scores aren't required but the GPA must be above 2.5. The school offers an extensive range of financial support. HCC got 310 applicants from westside with 324 applicants accepted from this school. That means an acceptance rate of about 105%

The college fits my needs by being cheap, while having a good location. Another benefit would be the high acceptance rate, so the school is a good safety. By the fact that the college is in Houston allowing me to save on boarding. However the school isn't a big wig in colleges and is a typical 2 year college. That means that I'll end up having to move to a new college and restart the college search .
