Challenges:

Issues relating to the pacing of my lesson - Received feedback that I might be moving too slowly for lessons but I am unsure of when students are ready to move on hence I slow down my pace

Classroom management related concerns: Students will talk non-stop among themselves even when the teacher is at the front teaching. Some even fall asleep or play card games.

I have encountered issues with classroom management. My students across my classes are generally low motivation but average ability, it is common for them to blank out during lesson, be sleeping or talking amongst ourselves. There has also been some defiant students who challenge my authority by arguing against what I say and completely ignore my instructions. I have been trying varying strategies to mitigate the issues but generally I’m still not very confident in my classroom management skills as I feel that even as time has passed, some days turn out quite draining.
