to be very honest, painting is not really my forte. Painting for me has really been hard to identify because some themes usually look like another theme. (the eras!)
1. I thought that paintings were just grouped into eras. Like this painting is under renaissance and that's it. Little did I know there was much more than just categorizing paintings. (However, given that painting is not my forte, I know that this is NOT TRUE after the module.)
2. Although I had little background, I did know what mediums the painter used in creating paintings such as Oil, Acrylic, Mixed Media, Watercolor, etc. These are probably the only things I remember from that class because we did a hands on about this.
3. I have heard the word "Fresco" during my art subjects before but I have never gotten myself to enlighten myself about this. It was a term I was familiar with but not a term I understood. I knew it was from Fine Arts but I do not know the exact meaning.

After the Fine Arts module I have come to realize that Fine Arts as a Painting..
1. isn't just your categorized painting under different categories and eras. It actually has these sub-themes like the Liberal Arts, Poetry, Theology, and Philosophy. These were major themes I have come to meet that we're laying under these paintings. I never knew it played such a significance before. It is actually the first time I have encountered such themes in paintings like these.
2. Vanishing Point. To be honest, I have heard about this. Although I never had the interest to actually know what it does. I thought it was like focal points but after this module, I learned that things in paintings vanish at one point. I was so amazed because I never knew that is what they called it. I thought they just usually draw out lines where they signal "oh this is where it gets smaller" I never knew vanishing points were really essential in paintings. It creates better perspectives to be honest. It also creates more space which I thought was mind blowing because as I picture it in my head, it all makes sense now. The way vanishing points really create a wider perspective has given me ideas in the next things to come!
3. The Vitruvian Man was something I was familiar with, but only the thought that this painting was made to show that men was created proportionately and perfect. As seen in the painting, all of man's parts are proportionate and perfect in analogy with a circle. Little did I know that this is the merging of science and arts. It occurred to me only during the discussion and it really made sense. Science and Arts really could be together and it compliments each other.

To be honest, at this point, I do not know what else to expect about this. Although, I bare a few questions in mind.
1. Considering that there has been additional information about the paintings, has the painter ever consider leaving an open interpretation for the viewers to see and talk about? or do they really focus on the major themes that has happened in their era?
2. Aside from the Vanishing Point techniques, what are the other techniques that I can either apply in painting or actually see in paintings? Like focal points, how to do this? does this involve math? (for the vanishing point) or do you draw it out of perspective.
3. does using oil painting, acrylic, and water color create a different kind of vibe in paintings? is there a standard for having dramatic paintings? realistic paintings? like if i want to paint a dramatic portrait, is there a must to use a specific medium?
