This was mostly because we had no school and we didn’t think we wouldn’t be able to see each other. But as time went in and things got more serious our parents started telling us that we couldn’t hangout with our friends or go to public places. We managed this and began FaceTiming each other 24/7. For a long time we were content and happy. We would hangout (virtually), try knew things, and just mess around. Then something tragic happened. On April 19 our mom brought us down for lunch and then informed us that we would be moving back to Ohio. We were devastated and went to tell our friends. Since then our quarantine has been a mixture of tears and of each of us trying to cheer each other up. The sadness comes and goes for different people. Sometimes will be talking and one of our friends will just start crying and that will set off a chain reaction until everyone is either crying our laughing to try to cheer us up. We of course started making plans to visit each other and keep in touch even if we’re not in the same state. There had been so many threats and catastrophes that year that nobody really knew what to believe. When things started to heat up, I started hearing things about how bad it was and tried to tell my parents about it but they told me it was nothing and they knew nothing about it. As time went on, my classmates and teachers started talking about it everyday in class. Everybody had different views. The teachers for the most part claimed that the virus was nothing and that it was just another flu but the students argued that it was a more pressing issue. Even when people started hearing about schools and stores shutting down, the teachers and student still didn’t really believe we would shut down or be quarantined. In the beginning me and my friend would obsessively play Minecraft from morning well into the night. After about a week of the obsession we wandered away from that and a group of our friends would just FaceTime each other and talk. We would sometimes just be on FaceTime for the company. We would watch Netflix, exercise, and watch tik tok all while barely even talking to each other. When we were bored of sitting in our rooms me and Cameron would try out recipes. We would made pasta from scratch, churros, pancakes, funnel cake, and any other recipe that looked good. “It’s very confusing about the quarantine. There are different people on different sides but I believe we should follow the rules because I want to air on the side of caution because I don’t want me, not following the rules, causing harm to someone else. I also believe that we have been privileged compared to those losing their jobs and lives to the Coronavirus.
