Everyone knows about the hallmark number for emergencies, 911. But it’s important to know when these resources should be used. Not every problem needs that much attention, but it’s better to be safe than sorry when you are concerned about your well being. The emergency room is also a health resource that shouldn’t be used in excess.

My personal experience starts with me being sick with a sore throat. It got progressively worse but I was determined to just let time run its course. This obviously didn’t end well, as I had almost lost my voice by the time I went to the doctor. This showed me that I had resources and I should’ve used it before my throat had gotten as bad as it did.
