First day internship, we meet with HR supervisor, Ms. Wana for briefing about the management of Q Hotel. She introduced all staff each department in the hotel until to general manager, Madam Jasmin Lim. After that, he also shows us the places that there are in the hotel such as FNB place, housekeeping place and others. Lastly, we interviewed each person to determine the appropriate department. I was given the responsibility to work on the FNB department .

* Each department will rotate each month (one month for one department : FNB, housekeeping, front office and admin management)

Today I introduced with FNB supervisor, Mr. Hidir. He would take me to meet with staff at Q Cafe, Ali and Zahid. Ali has been long working in this area so he was entrusted by Mr. Hidir to teach me how to run at FNB. Actually, Q Cafe only have breakfast start at 7 a.m - 10:30 a.m and lunch should order in accordance with a predetermined menu unless the hotel have event, there will be dinner, supper and coffee break. For the first day at Q Cafe department, I notice by Ali "u tengok saya buat nanti u buat sendiri. Ada paham ka ? Paham2.

For information, my shift at 7 a.m until 3 p.m temporarily before Mr Hidir will set my shift duty. My task today were provides a breakfast by buffet for the guest that I have learned from Ali yesterday and also cites a plate and cup after the guest had already eaten. Then sweep and mop the floor after time for breakfast is over at 10.30 o'clock.

Today I work as always but today is very tired because the total guest for breakfast 254 people. I was told by GM to come to work early, namely at 6a.m. I'm very sleepy when came at Q Cafe. Duty roster has been released and posted on the notice board. For the month of February, my shift start from 6 a.m until 2 p.m everyday. And also in a week I have a day off.

While I do my work, Mr Hidir call me and he said that my shift until 10 a.m and I can go back to rest. But I will continue to complete my 8 hour shift at 7 p.m until 11 p.m because tonight there will be a dinner event for the owner of this hotel. So FNB staff have to prepare the dinner.

I and a new employee, Roy had been washed and cleaned the old kitchen that was renovated to use this event. This old kitchen is larger than commonly used kitchen. Besides that, it is very suitable used for event because of the large space and a lot of equipment and adequate.

This event has been using two place which is at the Q Hotel and PUSPANITA. Therefore, I have been entrusted by Mr. Hidir to handle the event at PUSPANITA including Siti and Zahid will help me. And also assisted by operation staff and office staff. Today we only handle for coffee breaks (evening) where food and drinks will be provided to participants of the event, which was packed from hotel.

The second day of this event, I and the others will be set up for lunch and coffee breaks (evening) in which three buffets site for participants and their companions. And also three VIP table for the use of doom set. Although tired to handle event outside the hotel but I enjoyed being able to interact more closely with the staff and most of all a new experience for me and another practical student.

ONE CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT

Today my shift start at 5 pm until 12 midnight with Zahid to handle dinner. Dinner will start at 7 pm, so I and Zahid must prepared food and drinks before dinner time. After a month in the FNB department, I can handle a little bit for a small event but a lot to learn if there was a big event. What should I do when dinner is top up food and drinks if less, make coffee and tea are always full and collect plates and cups after the guest has finished eating.
