         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Content Standard: </strong></div><ul><li>1B-NI-05: Discuss real-world cybersecurity problems and how personal information can be protected</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>ISTE Standard: </strong></div><ul><li>ISTE 7B: Students use collaborative technologies to work with others, including peers, experts or community members, to examine issues and problems from multiple viewpoints</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Visible Thinking Routine and Summary:</strong></div><ul><li>Tug of War for Truth</li><li>This allows a controversial - usually yes/no - question to be raised to the class, where students will add bring forth evidence to support one side. It evokes critical thinking and reasoning skills in a class room setting</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Idea and Concept:</strong></div><ul><li> Students will use <em>Popplet</em> to create two separate sides, one for and one against, where they wull discuss as a whole how cyber security may develop in the future and if these changes are beneficial to ordinary citizens. Government and corporation rights to privacy information may be discussed as well. </li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Synthesizing and Organizing Ideas</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Content Standard: </strong></div><ul><li>3B-AP-21: Develop and use a series of test cases to verify that a program performs according to its design specifications.</li></ul><div><br><strong>ISTE Standard: </strong></div><ul><li>ISTE 4C: Students develop, test and refine prototypes as part of a cyclical design process.</li></ul><div><br><strong>Visible Thinking Routine and Summary:</strong></div><ul><li>Explanation Game</li><li> This allows students to easily delve into certain aspects of a chosen item or topic by asking simple "why" questions and answering them to the best of their ability. This builds observational and communication skills.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Idea and Concept:</strong></div><ul><li>The class will form small groups, each starting with a base code. Using <em>Youtube</em>, they will screen record their findings. As students identify elements of the code, they will hypothesize what each element is responsible for and how changing the element may cause different outcomes. They will then edit, refine, and test the code and see if their outcomes matched their theories.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Content Standard: </strong></div><ul><li>3B-AP-24P: Compare multiple programming languages and discuss how their features make them suitable for solving different types of problems.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>ISTE Standard: </strong></div><ul><li>6D: Students publish or present content that customizes the message and medium for their intended audiences.</li></ul><div><br><strong>Visible Thinking Routine and Summary:</strong></div><ul><li>Color, Symbol, Image</li><li>This routine involves noting insightful or useful information while learning. Once done, the learner will choose three facts and choose a color, symbol, or image that represents the each point. This enhances comprehension by giving students a way to relate and reinforce it to objects in their life in a non-verbal way.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Idea and Concept:</strong></div><ul><li>Students will choose one aspect of HTML or Python coding. They will research their aspect and create an informative <em>Prezi</em> on the topic. In the prezi, they will include the three facts they found most crucial along with their respective color, symbol, or image and why they chose that. Once complete, students will spend a day presenting to their classmates. </li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>
