Attendance is a major issue this year in our classroom. Too many students stay home for a little stomachache or headache. Our office manager Mrs. Zayas reported that 27% of our students are absent at least one day per week.  This may not seem like a lot but it is when you finish the school year made up of 42 weeks. This is more than a months worth of being out of school. How much do you think you will learn or miss if you are absent that much? Forty Two days multiplied by 535 students in our school equals 22, 470 absences at Lorenzo Manor. I believe your education will be affected by this number of absences as a community. But it won't be fair for others because some students will get awards and not them and in their heads they will feel embarrassed and ashamed. I think you shouldent be rewarded for coming to school because some people cant go to school and you go to school to learn not to get rewards
