• People are equal.​

  Cons of communism

• The government owns all the businesses and properties (the means of production). There is no freedom of speech. Large or geographically-broad populations tend to be diverse, making it difficult to maintain a common goal or set of rules for shared effort and resources. Central planning is difficult to achieve.

  Pros of theocracy

Dictatorships- over half of dictatorships start in military coups.

Communist nations- they usually start by basing their constitution on Marxism or Leninism.

Soviet states- become soviet by following the beliefs of the soviets.

Capitalist nations- start because of their motive to make a profit.

Democratic nations- start because of their motive to allow freedom.

How do they work

Dictatorships- the dictator has most or total power over the government.

Communist nations- are typically administered through democratic centralization.

Soviet states- are typically federal single party socialist framework.

Capitalist countries- capital assets are owned privately.

Democratic nations- in a democracy, people have the power to take part in decision making.

Laws in Australia

In Australia, all people – whether living here or just visiting – are expected to obey our formal laws and social customs. Both males and females are treated equally under Australian law. If you break the law you face the possibility of being arrested and prosecuted. In Australia, the police are responsible for keeping peace and order. Some of these laws that are broken may not result in jail time but a heavy fine.

• Littering is prohibited, make sure you throw your rubbish away in bins.

• Drinking alcohol in a public place is not permitted.

• You must be over 18 years old to purchase alcohol or cigarettes.

• Smoking is not permitted in restaurants, bars, nightclubs and many other public areas, such as train stations.

• It is illegal to discriminate against any person on the basis of factors such as: gender, colour or race, sexual preference, marital status, political beliefs or disability.

• It is a crime to be violent, including against animals.

• You can’t carry weapons, including knives and guns. You need a firearms permit to own and use a gun in Australia.

• When riding a bicycle, motorbike or scooter, you must wear a helmet.

• You must obey Australian road rules. Each state and territory in Australia has its own licensing requirements and driving restrictions. You need to ensure you have a valid driver’s license, according to the licensing requirements of each state or territory, to drive in Australia.

• You are breaking the law if you offer a bribe in exchange for services.

The type of protests are marches, demonstrations, boycotts, silent vigils , petitions, peaceful street protests, picketing and many more.

Have you heard of Black Lives Matter ✊🏿 and LGBTQ+ of Course you have but there are not so popular protests like the just stop oil protest, war protesters, pro-Palestine protesters and others.

People protest because the driving force behind some of the most powerful social movements exposing injustice and abuse demanding accountability and spiring people to keep hoping for a better future

Well let’s start with what a society actually is.

A society is a large group of people who live together in an organised way, making decisions about how to do things and sharing the work that needs to be done!

Some ways people have a say is forming organisations about a topic they want to in force, create or change.

Some examples are the Ending homelessness campaign. It was created by the VHN (the Victorian homelessness net work) and there studies show that 30,000 victorians are with out homes each night.

Bhutanese democracy, Consensus democracy, Guided democracy, Interest group democracy, Messianic democracy, Monitory democracy and Non-representative democracy. In some, people help make decisions directly by voting on laws and policy proposals. This is called direct democracy.​

It is a democracy because people govern themselves. It is representative because people choose elected officials by free and secret ballot. It is a republic because the Government derives its power from the people.

There are hundreds of Federal agencies and commissions charged with handling responsibilities as varied as managing America's space program, protecting its forests, gathering intelligence, and advancing the general welfare of the American people.

Democracy is more accountable form of government. Democracy responds to the needs of the people. A non-democratic government may and can respond to the people's needs, but it all depends on the wishes of the people who rule. A democracy requires that the rulers have to attend to the needs of the people.

One girl is killed every 11 days but for girls it’s every 91 days, because of that 10 girls have been killed the year so far in Australia. 2.2 million girls have experienced sexual harassment since the age of 15! 4.8 million attacked a year! 125 girls get killed by men each year.(and 54 men.) In 2023 there was a 28% increase for women killed by partner. And if you’re saying what about men blah blah blah 81% of women get harassed while men only 41%. 2. MONEY - the pay gap for women and men is 21.7% different ( women payed less) if your wondering how much money that is it’s $26,393 difference. So every time a man gets $1 a woman gets 78c, because of that men have double the net worth. And what makes it so much worse it’s $241,000 more expensive to be a woman!

3. PINK TAX - The money is also hard because of the pink tax, if you’re wondering what that is it’s where women’s items cost 7% more!

4. WHAT NEEDS TO CHANGE- Only 54% of people support gender equality, because of this around 2.4 billion women don’t have rights! The only reason they don’t have rights is because of traditions and social structures. But here are the top 4 things that need to be changed

So we were talking about the ending homelessness campaign (the VHN). Recently they created this new campaign where people make origami houses and then put them on the Victorian parliament steps.Its purpose is to raise awareness of the urgent need for more social housing which is homes for people who need them most.

Another way to have a say is to create art works in public spaces that contain a meaningful message. It’s often a reflection on the artist’s surroundings;Like if they’re not happy about choices the governments made or if there’s a food or housing shortage.(sometimes they’re even about war)

The last way I’m going to be showing you is protests.

Well What even is a protest? you might ask.

People organise protests to publicly draw attention to a problem or opinion. They use it to influence public opinion or a government policy. They might even undertake direct action in an attempt to force the changes themselves.

How do people start a protest?:

Usually they start by gathering people who agree on the topic and are willing to protest. Then they pick a time and place and keep everyone on the same page. People who start protests often choose to keep their identity a secret because if the protests are illegal police may film it to identify individuals before arresting them after the event.
