Benefits:

1) the drill gives a very structured procedure to follow so we cannot go wrong on how to approach the paper

2) it sets the starting point of the AQ question before reading the passage so it gives the student a short sypnosis of what would be the key point and main idea of the passages

Challenges:

1) they may not be ample time for the student to go through the entire paper 2 drill as there is also the short answer component which takes a high percentage of the total marks

2) there may be also misconceptions when going through the paper drill the first time resulting in a totally wrong answer for the AQ question

Thus emphasising shows me what the focus is for the argument for the AQ.

-It has allowed me to understand the question better by focusing on the contexts such as "yourself " and "your society".

-Easily identify the author's overall claim so it is easier for us to choose whether to rebut his/her points or to comply.

Challenges

-It still depends greatly on our personal understanding of the passage as the claims we make may or may not be valid

-Contextual knowledge needed to supply the AQ is to be done on our own time

Benefits--

The first step of the P2 Drill, reading the title and it's description, would allow us to be able to understand the author's focus, the topic he would write on. This allows us to pinpoint the main point of the whole article.

The second step of the P2 Drill, reading the AQ before responding would definitely help students who tend to have issues in completing the whole GP comprehension passage on time (A lot of students). Placing this as step two helps to 'secure' the 10 marks at the early on in the paper, and would aid in finishing questions relevant to this in earlier questions faster,

Overall, these two steps are helpful as they would be able to aid in the understanding of the question and helps students get a grasp on a unfamiliar topic *Terms and conditions apply- Basic GP skills required*

Challenges--

The first step of the P2 Drill would help in the understanding of the question, however it also poses as much questions as it can solve. Students who lack necessary skills, would get more confused completing the P2 Drill than they were before.

The second step of the P2 Drill would indeed help students in the completion of the GP essay, given that the time allocated is as closely adhered to as possible, however, it is also equally as beneficial to start with question 1 to the application question, as this would enable the students to follow through the whole GP comprehension and understand the application question in further depth due to a deeper understanding of the whole comprehension.

Overall, this is based on the circumstances and the P2 Drill may not be the best.

One of the benefits of this drill is broadening our perspective and fishing out terms or pieces of evidences from what we have read before so that we can include them in our essays. From that, we can also filter out potential claims which are not directly related to the question even though they may appear to be. The P2 drill allows the setting up of a platform from where we would be able to build on our content as we go along. It sets a direction from the start on the right path so that we can ensure we won't divert from the main topic altogether. (increases the chances of avoiding misinterpretation...)

Some of the challenges faced could be the disorganization of facts and we may not know what information we need to come up with strong, valid claims. We might also defend our own opinions if we feel very strongly on the matter yet ultimately, forget to respond to the overall claim of the author.

By brainstorming, it would be easier to obtain a smooth flow of the AQ, leading to better organisation of points and maybe higher language marks.

2. Step 1 would be further supported by step 2. This is because step 2 is the direction which the person who set the paper wants "us" to read into and focus on.

3. Sometimes, the title and the AQ may be contradicting or are unrelated. But this just means that the AQ should be followed.

Challengers

1. Sometimes AQ and description may not be understandable, leading to more wastage of time to read the entire source.

2.Sometime brainstorming may take awhile, using SPERM, VUCA and GINCI. Many points should be thought up of in order to find the most suitable one. But is the point most suitable, the best point?

Benefits:
1) P2 drills help us to be prepared on what the text is about. By knowing what the text is about, we are able to come up with assumptions before reading the text.
2) P2 drills help us to link social issues that is related to the text. It is important as we will have to come up with claims for AQ.
Challenges:
1) It is hard for me to think of a social issue that is related to the text on the spot. Will take some time before I can think of any social issue that is related to the text.
2) Sometimes when following the question requirements like: From Paragraph 6 to 8. I find that there are too little information(Because I don't really know what the question really wants me to answer) inside the paragraphs, so I will tend to write lesser.
