Jem and scout go to Miss Maudies yard to haul as much snow as they can to build a snowman. When they make it it looks a little to much like Mr.Avery so atticus makes them change it.

During that night atticus wakes scout up and to scouts surpise Miss maudies house is on fire. The town gathers around and some people help save her furniture until the firemen arrive and stop the fire from spreading. Since Scout is now in second grade he gets to walk with Jem. On the walk home they found a ball of twine in the knot hole where they had found things earlier in. Afterwards in that fall Jem and Scout found two small images carved in soap of themselves.  A week after they realized that Boo Radley had made those they found an old spelling bee medal and four days later they found a broken pocket watch on a chain with an aluminum knife.
