That was so small, I could hold it right in the palm of my hand. said Willie May. That is the first time that we have seen Willie Mays emotions and her feelings. That is also the first time she is really opening up to us as a character.

On page 66 I noticed the signpost Again & Again. Rob's Dad said"It ain't something to cry over," when Rob cried when he found the dead bird. His Dad always says stuff like"Crying ain't gonna bring her back" or "it ain't something to cry over." This makes think that his Dad is sad about things too, but he's tough and doesn't want to show his soft side. Rob's Dad saying this is what caused his rash and to cuase Rob to be the best not-crier in the world. I know Rob's Dad is probably trying to make Rob tough like him by doing this but it's also kinda backfiring on Rob.

Again & again
On page 66, I think was a important monent because it is two sighposts. Again & again and Memoery monent because it stated " It ain't nothing to cry about. It's just a bird." So i think this is like we know that the little bird, can be the symbol of the mom becausse page 34 which was when his mom was still alive that His father and mom sang the song "mIning for gold" which was like his mom ( the bird) flying through the soild wood. So we know that the bird might be refering to the mom so when his dad shot it it was like his mom was dead and his father was telling him, It ain't nothing to cry about," causing him to keep his emotion in. It is a again and again because it keeps getting mentioned in the story like his mom and the little bird. This is just what I think in general! ,<3

And the reason this so important is because he hasn't thought of his mom in along time even though he did think of his mom l=early in the book but still it is really important because he can open up to her so that is why cried when his mother was alive .

on pg. 64 there was a contrast and contradiction. its very short but its very important. At the very bottom of the page Willie May says, "'Couldn't stand seeing him locked up, so I let him go.'" Willie May let the bird go because she felt bad for it. But it led Rob to think about the memory moment where his father shot the bird and he cried when he found it dead. It gave the readers a better understanding on why they want to let the tiger go, and why its so important.

Rob cried (letting his emotion out before his mother passed away.) when his father shot the bird a long time ago when his mother was alive. What I learned about Rob's father is, he doesn't care about animals because on page 66 he says "It ain't nothing to cry over," he'd said. "It's just a bird."
