If I were to take part in the risky behavior of smoking, I would have the chance of developing lung cancer and then have the potential of death from cancer. Ways that I can keep myself away from smoking is to not give into peer pressure and think about the long run, not the moment. "Most decisions often require thinking through how the decision may impact on others, such as friends, family." Not only would smoking effect my health, but it would affect my future husband and children and put them at a risk of cancer from second-hand smoking. It would also put the rest of my family through a lot of heartbreak knowing that I'm not healthy and could die.

My mamaw died of lung cancer from smoking all her life and gave cancer to one of my uncles from second-hand smoking. "Taking risks can involve some costs and dangers." (Unit 6 iBook Section 3) Not only did it put all of her family at risk, but it cost her a lot of money spent on cigarettes. "Most decisions often require thinking through consequences, both positive and negative, short term and long term." She must not have thought about the long-term effects of smoking before she got addicted.
