Some important events that have happened so far in "Seventh Grade" are, when Victor admits that he has a crush on this girl named Theresa. I think that the theme of the story so far, is "Friends always stick together through thick and thin" because Victor and his friend are always there for each other in what we read so far. The theme would possibly change because we haven't read the whole thing so far.

Some important events are.......... He tries scowling at girls and realizes that scowling actually works. That's all I can think of...Oh wait... Another one is that he wants Teresa to be his girl.

Events that could tell us what the theme is are his thoughts. For example, "Teresa is going to be my girl this year..."

Some important events from "7th Grade" so far are when Victor finds out the Teresa (his crush) might be in the same class as him. Another memorial part of the passage was when Victor copied his friend's scowl and figured out that girls have been giving him second looks. So far, the theme in "7th Grade" is to never act different for someone. I know this because of what is going on between Victor and Teresa. For example, Victor tried to scowl and ever since he realized girls where looking at him, he used it to try and get Teresa's attention. If the two ever get together, Teresa will know that that is not Victors real look.

Some important events are Micheal teaching Victor about scowling and Victor tried it on the way to homeroom and got stared at by a girl.
An event to show the theme is don't be selfish over anything, an event that can show us that is Victor trying to scowl and get girls to think he was handsome, and he was being selfish, but it didn't work no matter how much he thought it did.

When Victor tried it he got attention from some girl.

So far I think the theme is not to put too much attention on one person. I think this because through the first page most of Victor's thoughts are based on what Teresa was doing. Like when he found that he had certain classes with her and was happy about it.

Don't change yourself for someone else because than you are lying to them and yourself.

Some important events are when Victor explains that he has a crush on a girl named Teresa, another important even is when his friend shows him how to scowl. The theme that I see so far in " Seventh Grade" by Gary Soto is that , You should be yourself if you want to impress someone. I know this as in the story Victor's friend thinks that scowling will get girl's attention, but scowling isn't really a way to grab someone's attention, or as Victor says its something pretty strange.

I think that one of the themes in this story is to just act the way you normally would, and not listen to others just because it seems 'cool.' An event from the story that supports this is when Victor's friend tells him that scowling makes him look better, even though it really isn't.
