Tom Canty was born in a poor family of paupers and the other child, Edward Tudor, was born in the Westminster Palace, so he is was the Prince of Wales. Everyone was happy when Edward was born, but no one wanted Tom because his family didn't want another mouth to feed.He lived with his father, mom and two sisters. John Canty was his father but he didn't work so he put Tom on the streets to beg for money, and when he didn't get any money his father hit him.

When Tom was with his friends he played to be a Prince, they also jumped in the mud and swam in the river.

Father Andrew was a kind, old priest with white hair, who he taught Tom to read, write and Latin. One day Father Andrew said to Tom "Why don't you go to the Palace and see the Prince?".

When Edward left the palace the soldiers did not believe him that he was the prince. People were not kind to him. After walking alone through the streets Edward felt tired, he was cold, his feet hurt a lot because he wasn't wearing shoes, and his stomach hurt because he was hungry. When Edward was lost in the streets, he met John Canty who was Tom's father. Edward told him that he was not his son but John did not believe him and told him that he was crazy. Tom loved his new clothes and all the things in the palace that surrounded him. He liked this game of exchanging roles but after an hour he started to get scared. Tom met Lady Jane Gray and he told her everything but she thought he was sick. She took him to King Henry who was Edward's father and he the king was very sick. Then Lord Hertford arrived, who was an important man that worked for the king short fat man with a long nose. The king asked Lord Hertford to bring him the great seal, but the lord returned without it the great seal because Tom does not didn't remember what it was. At lunch Tom made a lot of mistakes like eating with his hands, began to eat with his hand and make noise with his mouth but no one laughed because they thought he was sick, then he took a lot of nuts and put them in his pockets, at the end of the meal a servant brought a finger bowl, but tom he drank from it.

In this chapter Tom was at the royal barge going to the guildhall to be a king meet important people. otherwise Meanwhile Edward as Tom was scared and wanted to tell everyone the truth. But the crowd laughed at him and Tom’s father, John, Abused was mean with Edward and tried to kill hit him. Fortunately father Andrew was there and tried to protect Edward fighting with John Canty. Sadly father Andrew died in that fight because John Canty killed him hitting him with a bat. Edward felt bad and culprit. John Canty said to his family that they needed to scape to another place because there was a lot of people that saw the crime. Edward scaled escaped from them and reached the guindhall but he was scared. Tom was the king and he was lost, fortunately in that moment Miles hendon a royal soldier was there and he helped him to scaped healthy in that zone.

Edward was is very sad and tired. Then they eat. After dinner Edward assigns Miles Hendon as one of his men. Miles Hendon tkink thinks that Edward is mad and needs some sleep so they go to bed. The next day Miles Hendon leaves Edward sleeping and goes to buy new clothes. In the streets he hears that people says that the new king is mad and says that because he thinks he is a pauper. Miles Hendon starts to think that Edward is saying the true truth so he quickly rerurns to the inn but Edward wasn't ins't here there. Te owner of the place tells he him that a man took had taken the boy. Miles Hendon goes up out to look por he him. At the same time Edward had to follow John Canty to an old barn where there are beggars, thieves and vagabonds. He says that he is the prince of Wales and everyone laught laughs at him. He wants to cry but he doesn't do it. He goes to a corner and fell falls asleep.The next day he gets up and everyone is sleeping. He opens the doors and escapes. He stops in the market and found finds Miles Hendon. Miles Hendon tells he him what he had heard and promises to help he him to go back to the palace.

He wanted to go back to his real life like a pauper; it was more funny. One day, a boy called Humprey Marlow came quietly. Tom saw him and asked him who he was. Humprey told him that he was his wipping boy. It means meant that, when the Prince of Wales makes made a mistake, no one hit to him, so they hit Humprey. Tom liked him and they talked a lot. So, Tom learned a lot of things about Edward's life. In a moment Lord Hertford, the king´s first lord, thought that Tom could remember more things, so he asked him where the Freat Great Seal was it. He didn´t know where it was, so Hertford knew that he still wasn´t well.
