Women during the 1930's were exteriorized as alluring objects whom which men could have control of or use to their advantage. They were seen as either dead maternal figures or unbeneficial prostitues who were just there to entertain men when they needed them to. Women weren't seen as human and their dreams weren't valued nor acknowledged. The misogyny in the society of the 1930's forced a mind set on everyone that men were far superior to women.
