In The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby achieves "the American Dream" by going from rags to riches, giving him the "perfect American Identity". However, this was not Gatsby's dream, he wanted one thing and one thing only. The Golden Girl! Daisy was the love of his life and when he finally found her his goals and life was complete. His American Dream was achieved.
