Ironic

The real world example I used for the word ironic. Is a stop sign that says go. The reason that this is ironic is stop signs always mean to stop not go. This word is used correctly because it the opposite of what is expected. This word is used correctly for this situation because when you see a stop sign you except to have to stop not go. I feel the tone of this example was concerning since that people will get confused and could cause accidents.

Epic

In this example we have the word epic being used to explain the stock market crash. Since the word epic has a couple meanings it is used correctly but also can be used wrong. This was describing a epic fail or colossal disasters since lots of people got affected in this situation. But it is also wrong because in literature it is talking about something that was long poem or piece of art that has a powerful message. So in this situation the word i used correctly to describe the terrible crash of the stock market. The tone of epic in the situation is powerful since that this changed the lives of so many.

Glacier

I used the example of the glacier ice rink in Libertyville. This word is not being used correctly because the definition we are given says that glaciers are masses of ice usually enormous that are formed over many years. It is appropriate since that a ice rink is a pace where people go to sate on large pieces of ice. The tone of glacier is happy in this situation since people go there to have a fun time,

Germane

I choose a word of the day off a website. I saw this when I was online shopping they said the definition of germane was being appropriate and fitting into that situation. Which was used incorrectly since the real definition of germane is from the same parents. So even in this situation is not correct to this certain definition. Most words have multiple definitions but in this case it is not correct. The tone of this embarrassing since this was just a pop ad it makes there website look bad which makes people not trust them for definitions.

In this example it is a definition of the word from a child book glossary. In the book they use this word so they define it since most children are not sure of the meaning. This word is used correctly because it is the same definition. They are telling the dinosaur to go be a happy guy in a flock of other dinosaurs. To be around other dinosaurs that are the same as him. This word is very appropriate in this situation because the book is about fitting in and being happy when you are with people. It is about how even though everyone is different but still to be kind. The tone of this word in this situation is encouraging since they are being supportive of the dinosaur.
