He was arrested because he had lead protests, the "March Of Washington" was on if the largest rallies, where he gave his "I Have A Dream" speech. He also won the Nobel Peace Prize, for combating against racism through nonviolent resistance. H e was a leader of Black Civil Rights, and he grew up in extreme poverty. His father was an outspoken Baptist Minister, who was murdered when Malcolm was only 6 old. He was a Muslim minister and preached for Black Rights. The US was very scared of the threat of communism and wanted to stop it, over 3 million people ended up dying in this war (US and Vietnamese). A lot of Americans felt like US had no business being in this conflict, and there were many protests in the country about it.
