what is looks like is that Romania joined the EU in 07 and that's when the oppertunerty for Romanians to migrate in large numbers appeared. there's something called a 'transitional cap' that expires this year but i couldn't find a good definition of what that was? also if you make an account using your school emails then you don't need to 'wait for your post to be verified', makes everything easier

Right so here's a few things:

-Migrants are usually in their 20s which means they reduce the age gap and also have families. Since the UK's current birth rate is under 2 per couple (1.9) this is needed in order to increase the birth rate.

-A8 migrants often fill a skills gap such as farming

-UK is a country formed on immigration and has a strong and proud history of it. Over the last century we have welcomed people from all around the world and this has helped the country to diversify. We cannot simply turn away the new migrants as it will put off other migrants in the future from coming to the United Kingdom, which could have poor consequences for several industries such as manual labour businesses.

-Cheeky Girls are Romanian...

Perhaps we could include a strategy that would help all of the EU and keep the free movement thing, we could say that the EU needs to have benefit laws in every country within it that are the same, so mass migration to one country would cancel out.. just a thought

January 1st 2014 restrictions on migrant labour from Romania and Bulgaria were relaxed. Citizens of those countries are now allowed to come and work in Britain on the same basis as citizens of other EU countries.

VICTOR SPIRESAU had the honour of being the first Romanian immigrant to land in Britain on January 1st. Mr Spiresau, who works in construction, said he did not want to “rob” Britain, just make enough money to go home with a nest-egg for his family.

Just under 2% of people who have arrived in Britain from EU countries since 2010 have claimed unemployment benefit, according to the Labour Force Survey.

Several recent reports have concluded that migrants pay more in taxes than they took out in welfare payments, because they are mainly young and keen to find work

In truth, though, Britain’s welfare system, designed for an era of much less labour mobility, is unlikely to be greatly strained by a new wave of incomers.
