         <description><![CDATA[<div>When Scout arrived at school, she expected to learn new things. However,  on her first day of the first grade, she leaned they were just learning the basic alphabet. She was bored and wrote a letter to Dill. This not only shows the vast differece of knowlage Scout has to the rest of her class, but how school was not what she expected. It was not interesting and was instead dull and boring.</div>]]></description>

The rumors were the ramblings of people of color and one Stephanie Crawford, who always had some of the most outlandish things to say.</div>]]></description>

Rumors spread to their new school based on partial truths built on what different people saw. You can believe the rumors and the new person's supposed reputation or ignore rumors and make your own impressions.<br>A family has lived in a small town for years, barely having friends due to false rumors that spread about them. Few know the truth, being the older members of the community. You can make an effort to get to know the family and learn the truth or continue to percieve them for something they are not.</div>]]></description>

When Scout tries to explain with an explanation that requires these social norms, Miss Caroline does not respond with understanding. This lack of knowlage of her own students, makes the students annoyed at her. She does not know the true nature of Maycomb, and she will have to live there to experience it. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Although Jem was joking with this statement, it still offers to how Jem sees the Radleys. Jem clearly does not respect them, because he said they stuffed a dead body up a chiminey. This also hint towards the fact that he beleives the Radley's to be wierd people. He does not know the Radleys personally, so he uses the rumors to creates his own truth about them.  Even if that truth winds up to be entirely false. </div>]]></description>
