12/7
In this drawing I used cray pas and a china marker. I made my skin yellow to show happiness since yellow is a bright happy color. I drew my hair kind of blowing in the wind to show movement to show was jittery and hyper I usually am. In the background I used blues and greens since they are cool darker colors. It is supposed to show darkness or sadness around me and in my life. Overall I hoped the drawing showed how I continue to stay positive and happy even though things may be bad around me. I struggled with the left side of my face. To me it just look disfigured and flat. If I could redo it I would work more with my shadows and show the highlights of my face more.

11/18
In this drawing I used a charcoal pencil, colored pencil and cray pas. I tried to literally show a heart being the center of life. Since the heart is what keeps humans alive and will be the last thing to go when they die.I showed that in the flowers. Toward the far left I drew a small flower bud to represent a baby. As it moves right it grows into a small bloom showing elementary years and then into a fully bloomed flower which is teen and adulthood. In the end the flower is dead and its peddles are falling off. This shows the death stage of life. It shows growth by showing the stages of life and how we change and grow. I also used darker greens as I moved left to show more darkness and old age. If I could do it over again I would only use color on the flowers and use the charcoal to go from grey to black instead of the green.

10/28
In this drawing I used a collage of book pages in the back.I also used a combination of china markers, cray pas and colored pencil. For the tree I tried to highlight the middle of the tree to give it the illusion that it is round and tried to give it a more realistic feel. If I could do it again I would use cool colors to show shadows on the tree. On the collage I used a pastel stick to put red on the collage. I did this to give it a fall kind of feeling. I wanted it to give the feeling of being in the woods during fall when all the leaves are falling.

This was my first project and last step in the tutorial. I gave up on the water colors and decided to use cray pas.I liked cray pas more because they were thicker and gave the feeling I was hoping for. It
showed the movement in the seaweed that I wanted. I used dark blues in the bottom left corner to show the light was coming from the right. I also made the water lighter by using a lighter blue on the top because thats how the ocean actually is. Around the fish I used light an bright colors to make the fish look more magical. Also I wanted to show its movement to the right.

The first thing I did was outlined what I wanted to draw with ebony pencil. I wanted to do something under water since I wanted to use water color paint. I wanted the seaweed to give the illusion that it was flowing through the water. I also used shading to make the seaweed look like it was turning and like the bubbles were round and 3 demential.

The second thing that I worked on was the scales of the fish. I wanted it to look like zentangles. I did this in ebony pencil as well. I made the scales smaller as I got closer to the end of the tale. I had trouble making the tail look like it was flipping and if i could do it over I would use shading and shadows to flip the tail.

Once I finished the outline I started to paint with water colors. It looked really patchy and I did not like it. If I could re do it I would not use paint. I used different colors on the fish because I wanted it to stand out in the water and look kind of magical. I did not like the way the seaweed came out because it didn't show the movement I was trying to show.
