         <description><![CDATA[<div>Bruner believes there are three stages to learning the first is:<br><strong>Enactive</strong> (0-1 years)<br>Action based information and storing it in our minds,<br>for example - a baby might remember the action of shaking a rattle.<br><br><strong>Iconic </strong>(1-6 years)<br>Information is stored visually in forms of images - <br>for some this is something that they are conscious of, but, for others they do not experience this. <br><br><strong>Symbolic</strong> (7 years onward)<br>This develops last.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1st October 1915 - 5th June 2016 (Age 100)<br>American Psychologist and Educator<br><br>Bruner received his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Duke University in 1937, a master’s degree in psychology in 1939, then a doctorate degree in psychology in 1941 at Harvard University.<br><br>He is a world renowned cognitive psychologist and his studies helped to introduce Jean Piaget’s concept of developmental stages of cognition into the classroom.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Learners learn best when they acquire new knowledge and are allowed to manipulate and transform this knowledge in order to be able to understand it.&nbsp;<br><br>This is done&nbsp; using different strategies e.g problem-solving and play activities, research on the internet&nbsp; and talking to their peers (like we have done today) .<br><br>&nbsp;It therefore stems from the scaffolding concept in this sense as we have built on yesterdays learning but constructed new ideas following on from this, such as Bruner.&nbsp;<br><br>&nbsp;Bruner believed that students then go on to check their learning by talking it through&nbsp; with the adult supervising their learning.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
