The idea behind the reference 'mike shake' is "The milkshake, it turned out, did the job better than any of these competitors." My milk shake is mountain dew. When it's late afternoon and I need something extra to help me get through I always drink mountain dew. The caffeine helps me focus and wakes me up. I don't drink coffee so I guess you can say this is my "starbucks."

As a teacher, students will require me to motivate them and make learning meaningful. Connecting the teaching/learning process to student's lives and interests is very important. In the article it states students "want to feel successful and make progress, and they want to have fun with friends." Students are able to tell when teachers go that "extra" mile to help them succeed and make learning a good experience. In turn, I will make learning meaningful and motivate students to do well in school, in return it will give them the feeling of progress.

'HIRE'

I have several 'hires' that motivate me to be successful. One hire is myself, I have a drive to be the best I can be because I always strive to improve. Another is my family because I don't want to let others down. Lastly, soccer has taught me how to push myself and that practice makes perfect. These contribute to my success in school. Receiving an A on a project, paper, or test is a great feeling after putting a lot of effort into your work!
