The Americas were home to many different Indigenous peoples who lived there for thousands of years. They built amazing civilizations like the Inca and Aztec. Also, around the year 1000 CE, Norse explorers reached North America.

1325 CE- When major civilizations in the Americas, Africa were established

Big civilizations started at different times. The Aztecs built their capital city, Tenochtitlan, around 1325 CE. The Inca Empire started growing around 1350 CE, and the Iroquois Confederacy was formed in 1450 CE. In Africa, ancient civilizations like the Egyptians began way earlier, by the first millennium BCE, with cities like Memphis being founded around 3100 BCE.

October 12, 1492- Christopher Columbus led a Spanish expedition that arrived in the Bahamas
