Truman Faculty and Staff~ We want to include all teacher input as we build an explicit and systematic MTSS plan for Tier 1 Behaviors at Truman using this Padlet. Please note, a few ideas were were already shared at the the MTSS Team meeting at McKinley on on Wednesday, November 20th. We will be able to add your input the next time we meet with that MTSS team on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Let's keep the conversation positive and supportive while considering all options. Please add a post it to include ideas you have for a Tier 1 approach to monitoring and implementing a schoolwide system. TY!

Class DOJO can be a very helpful and beneficial tool used in the classroom. It allows students to keep track of there behaviors throughout the day, along with keeping in communication with parents. Classrooms can use the tools however they choose (having prizes vs not having any). Having a system that the whole school uses with help with the tracking/monitoring. Also, incorporating administration in behavior incentives might be exciting for students. Example-notes from the principal, lunch with a principal, special treat, etc.

At the end of the month, the cart could be rolled to the classrooms and students can use "behavior bucks" that they've earned throughout the month to purchase small items (oriental trading items, chips, pretzels, popcorn). I also liked when we sent home preprinted Steeler postcards. They were mailed to the homes previously but we could send them home in the blue folders.

Maybe we could do something like pom poms or tickets in buckets to stay with the idea of bucket filling. I think bucket filler assemblies are great, but there should be something like a school store for the kids to cash in their tickets. There can be visuals around the classroom and school to be a constant reminder whikle they are in the halls going to/from different places in the school. With that said, I think whatever is done needs to be consistent across all classrooms and special areas so students know what is expected of them. While small things can vary between classroom to classroom, the idea as a whole of what is being earned, why, and what the final reward is should be consistent.

Example a bucket that students can throw a ticket with their name if caught being a bucket filler. At end of week, a name is drawn for a prize.

Those of us who attended the BOCES training for Frontline earlier this schoolyear were under the impression that Frontline will be the district-wide data tracking tool for both academic and behavioral RTI. We were shown how to input the data and analyze it. There were district admin present at this training who indicated that any type of Tier 2 or 3 data would be housed in Frontline RTI. It was explained that any student who does NOT have behavior entries in Frontline would be considered a Tier 1 and therefore eligible for any PBIS/Bucket Filler rewards. Is this no longer the case?

We need something simple to use with the entire class but also tangible. I like the idea of the children earning something and having the opportunity to use it for a reward.

The idea of a cart that passes through each grade level once a week is a great incentive for each child. We would have to figure out a quick and easy way to distribute tickets during the day, where each child would store their tickets earned etc....... and who would be in charge of the cart and replenishing it?

I also like the idea of a tangible ticket/buck system so that the students can save up to earn rewards. Also Teachers and staff can carry them with them and catch students who are not theirs doing the right thing as well.
