Sharks kill an average of 10 people a year, but more die from other causes. For example an average 150 people every year die from falling coconuts. There are other animals that are a bigger threat to humans than sharks. The U.S. averages just 16 shark attacks each year and one shark-attack fatality every two years. On the other hand, there are more people die from lightning strikes than shark attacks with 37 people killed from lightning strikes each year. “While sharks kill an average of less than one person a year in the U.S. and less than six worldwide”. so there are a lot more fatalities from other causes than sharks.

Fisherman kill sharks  for money and cultural value they kill sharks with a practice called shark finning. Humans should protect sharks. Sharks have been on earth for a lot longer than dinosaurs were and are beneficial. A shark can be as small as a dwarf lantern shark, the size of an average human hand, or as enormous as a whale shark that can be 18 meters long.  Sharks are threatened, they get stuck in fishing nets and people kill them for their fins.
