The Carrie Diaries is about a high school senior named Carrie and it talks about her life and everything that she goes through. I am a big Netflix binge watcher, so after watching two seasons based on this book I just knew that I had to read it, and I am not regretting it. The main types of books I read are realistic fiction, high school teen girl falling in love or something corny like that. So, when I read the first few chapters I just knew that I would really enjoy this book. I like a lot of things about this, but the main reason why I like it so much is because I relate so hard to the main character, Carrie. All her friends are in relationships and slowly growing up, meanwhile she is nervous about a lot of things but tries to keep a positive attitude no matter what. Although she gets into a relationship she takes it slow and is still a little awkward and insecure, unlike her friends, and I feel like I can hard-core relate to that. This book is like a lot of the other books I read, mainly because I specifically try and pick out the same type of stories. The last few books I have read have been very similar to the Carrie Diaries but, this story really had me hooked. I was very interested in each character and enjoy reading about each of their individual problems, because of the great details and the awesome plot, this made The Carrie Diaries apart of my top 10 favorites.

VK . veronikakudrytska https://padlet.com/veronikakudrytska/280hlu8pcrbq/wish/281980353 The book I am reading is called “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” by Jenny Han. It is about a nerdy, stay at home girl and a popular guy who fake date for their own benefits. I chose this book for many reasons, but the main reason was because I fell in love with the movie! After watching the movie, I found out that it is based on a book series, and I have read one of Jenny Han’s book series before and absolutely loved it. So far, I am really enjoying this book, I really love the plot and the main character Lara-Jean is just like me. Lara-Jean loves romance books, baking and loves to stay at home on the weekends. If you know me, you know that I am the exact same way. TATBILB gives me warm and happy feelings because of all the constant cheesy moments that will make the reader smile. This book has kept me interested because although I saw the movie, it is quite unpredictable. So far, the movie hasn’t been that like the book. So, I really like reading and finding out the differences between what I watched and what I read. This book gives me the same type of feelings and has grabbed my attention just like anther Jenny Han book I have read, called “The Summer I Turned Pretty”. It has a happy tone to it and has the two girl main characters who are both hopeless romantics. I will keep on reading this book along as finishing the rest of the series. I may even read more of Jenny Han’s books.

VK veronikakudrytska https://padlet.com/veronikakudrytska/280hlu8pcrbq/wish/284787555 The book that I am currently reading is called “Summer and the city” by Candace Bushnell, which is a sequel to her first book of the two-part series called “The Carrie Diaries”. I chose to read this book because after the first one ending on a cliffhanger, I just had to read more! So far, the books seem a little bit different from each other. The Carrie Diaries seems like it was mostly made for a teenage audience, meanwhile Summer and the city can be a good adult read as well. As of right now I am thinking that I will not like this book as much as the first one, since the main character Carrie is no longer in high school, and like I have mentioned before, high school books are my absolute favorite books. This book makes me feel somewhat anxious because I never know what type of crazy things the main character is planning to do, and I really like it when books are unpredictable like this one. I really do feel like this book fits in our society today because almost everyone who is older than me is just trying to make it in life and trying to work hard to get into their dream college or get their dream job. Except it’s not as easy and stressful as many of us think. This book gives me a good visual of how tough the real world is but somehow, we all can get through it. Although I’m not that far in my book I’m going to give it a 7/10 because it’s interesting but I think it could be better.

VK veronikakudrytska https://padlet.com/veronikakudrytska/280hlu8pcrbq/wish/287360293 Right now, I am currently reading the same book from last week. “Summer and the city” by Candace Bushnell, which is a sequel to her book “The Carrie diaries”. I’m a lot farther into this book and have realized how different everything is now in the series. It’s not about a quirky teen anymore but a young adult finding themselves. So far in this book it has introduced drugs, sex and a few more very “grown up” things. Setting has been the most important part in this book, being based in New York City. I think that if this book was somewhere else it wouldn’t be nearly as good as it is. The reason why New York is a big factor is because it’s the place where many people go to follow their dreams and try and make it big with their careers. Many of her family members and friends describe New York as dirty, gross, overcrowded and just talk it down. They don’t see it as the place where big dreams are chased and pursued like Carrie. The chapters I’m reading about are all about taking chances. This makes me feel motivated to just go out there and stop being so afraid of everything. Carrie has tried so many new things without overthinking and questioning herself, and that’s something that I think would be awesome to experience. The book that I just finished reading is called “Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda” by Becky Albertalli. This book was seriously the greatest thing I’ve ever read. It was so cute and cheesy, just everything I love in a book. After watching the movie, I figured I just had to read the book; and I’m so glad I did! Simon is a boy who came out as gay anonymously on his school website. After that, another gay boy and his start secretly exchanging emails without revealing who they are. Although I knew who the anonymous boy on the other side of the screen was, reading the process was so interesting. Movies and books are always way different, and I was glad that I got to learn more about the characters and Simons experience. I usually never read books about a guy main character, but after reading it and enjoying it so much, I may have to start. This book by Albertalli made me feel so many things. It made me feel really happy and kind of wanted me to step out of my comfort zone a little bit. I feel as if there are not many books on same sex couples, so this was really cool to read about and get to see what someone goes through. I think it would be so awesome if this became a series so the readers could know more about the characters. I would recommend this book to a friend and give it a 10/10 because of how I much I enjoyed it.

I read a good review on this book and decided to give it a try. It was definitely a step out of comfort zone because unlike the usual love books, this one is more of a mystery-crime book. The main character is an awesome soccer player at a private school who has a dark past and is trying to forget that. After a death at her school she has been receiving emails making her do awful things to the people she loves, or else her past will be revealed. I have never read a book who actually plays a sport so this was cool to read, especially since she plays soccer and so do I. My character has to make a lot of tough decisions, and for some of them, I think she could have handled It better. The character Kay is a bit selfish. She has sabotaged many of her friends and that’s something I could never do... Her decisions so far will impact her in many ways and it will make the story far more interesting since she isn’t playing it safe, she’s taking a lot of risks. What’s keeping me interested in the story is obviously the plot and all those emails she has been getting. I am really interested in finding out who and why she is doing all those awful things, how dark can her past be? So far, I am really enjoying this book and give it a 9/10.

As I get farther along into the book I learn more about the main character and I get to understand her better. I typically have a lot in common with the main character in my books, but this one is way different. My character Kay, is a little bit crazy. Kay is very different from everyone I have read about and the word I would use to describe her is psychotic. I think she is psychotic because she does anything to sabotage her friends and doesn’t think twice about it. Even with all the deaths and murders happening around her she still seems really heartless and like she doesn’t actually seem upset. The setting is at Bates, which is the rich private school that she attends. The setting is one of the most important things in this book because so much revolves around Bates. It is all about what happens at the school and what would happen if the students were to get kicked out. Lately there has been so much happening at the private school involving dying and it all seems to somehow lead and connect to Kay. Kay has gotten questioned by the police numerous times for a crime that she is saying she did not commit. As I read this book I do not think she is the one who committed the crimes , but if I was an investigator it would all make sense for it to be her fault.

This book was a go to pick for me because I am similar with these kinds of stories. Except this one was a little bit different than the rest. This book is about a girl who is not too wealthy, looking for a job. She gets a job taking care of a disabled man and as you probably figured. she is most likely going to catch feelings. I read a lot over the weekend and I have some pretty good predictions about what is going to happen between the characters and how the book will end. I am hoping that Louisa Clark (the main character) will end up falling in love with Will. Although he is a little bit closed off and private I think he is going to soften up to her and be real sweet to her. This is basically how every book is, but I still love reading them. These types of romance books give me those happy feelings because they seem to ALWAYS have a happy ending. The girl Louisa is the type of person I would definitely be friends with. Her personality traits are very kind and determined. She is determined to make Will feel happy. Louisa is always very organized too. Will on the other hand seems a little bit depressed and as if he has given up on life. Dear Martin.VK veronikakudrytska https://padlet.com/veronikakudrytska/280hlu8pcrbq/wish/305762269 I started reading a new novel called “Dear Martin” written by Nic Stone. And so far, I am in love with it. A lot of the times people try to cover up and to hide the truth by making things seem not so bad. In this book, it talks about a black boy and his struggles and realizations of how racism is still a thing in America no matter how many people say that everything is equal these days. The main character Justyce, guides us through his journey in this story and he shares his deep thoughts and problems by writing to Martin Luther King. A connection I found is that this book “Dear Martin” and the book “The Hate U Give” are both very similar in plots. The books talk about racism and the struggles that African Americans go through on a day to day basis. The fear of just walking down the street, being shot by a cop, and not being treated equally. Both main characters from these books attend schools with most white people, and sometimes the main character having to handle and accept stuff because they don’t want to be “ghetto”. “Dear Martin” has filled me with so many emotions and tears. Reading a powerful book really fills me in on how people of color really feel and this encourages me to be a part of making a change towards REAL equality. I recommend this book to everyone. I believe we should be required to read more books honest books like this since it is a real eye opener.

It is the second book of a three-part series and so far, I am enjoying it. I read the first book a few backs back and it left on a cliffhanger. Anytime a book ends on a cliffhanger, it makes me want to read it even more. So that’s exactly what I am doing. “P.S I Still Love You” is your typical high school romance novel, but there is so much to it. I have many predictions on this book as well. The main character, goody two shoes Lara Jean will start doing things out of her comfort zone. This will make everyone see and treat her differently, maybe in a good way. Another prediction of mine is that there will be some sort of plot against Peter (Lara’s boyfriend) just to make him seem like a bad guy and a bad boyfriend. This book keeps me interested because they are about my age and it is cool to read about people who have the same problems as me. Also, all the characters have something interesting about them and I enjoy seeing what is going to end up happening to them. “P.S I Still Love You” is a book that I would recommend to anyone who loves the fun, teenage romance books. I am going to read the last book in the series once I finish this book. I rate it 10/10 so far.

This novel just keeps getting better and better the further I read along to it. What I have noticed is that this book is very similar to another book that was written by Jenny Han. “P.S I Still Love You” reminds me so much of Han’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty” trilogy. Although the plots aren’t the same at all, when I read this book I think of Han’s other books. I think it is because her writing revolves around teenagers and their love lives and relationship struggles. The main characters are also quite similar. Lara Jean and Belly were once innocent girls. No one would ever think they would be the type of girls to get boyfriends, but they eventually did. I am feeling happy with how this book is going so far. There have been minor issues but nothing crazy. I know that all books have a downside and this one eventually will, but I am not ready for that. Lara Jean (The main character) and her boyfriend Peter have been going strong so I am hoping that there isn’t a crazy plot twist that happens soon. Everything about this book is making me want to keep reading it, especially the fact that I feel as if me and Lara Jean are a little bit alike. The awkwardness around boys, and always having some sort of plan is why I think we are a little bit alike. Overall, I still enjoy this book alike.

I either forget my book at home and start a new one, or I just find one in my drawer that I cannot wait to start. I took a break from reading “P.S I still love you” by Jenny Han and decided to read “Paper Towns” by John Green. I read Paper Towns a few years ago and it was one of my favorite books, and after seeing an Instagram post about it I decided that I needed to read it ASAP. One of my favorite things about this book is how spontaneous and unpredictable it is. You never know what time of crazy thing the main character Q will do for his next-door neighbor, also known as the girl of his dreams, Margo. The reason why I chose to read this book in the very first place was because of the author. I have always been a fan of John Greens book, ever since “The fault in our stars” became a HUGE hit. Ever since then I have been opened minded to reading any type of book, if it was by Green. Overall, I recommend this book to anyone who just likes some sort of adventure book and something to keep you wondering. Now my goal is to finish “P.S I still love you” and then move onto the third book so that I can hopefully find a new book series to read.
