The reason this happened is because I've been burned a few times by assuming. Examples include assuming someones gender. stereotypes, and guessing someones likes based on gender. I admit that I was wrong to make assumptions based on those things based on preconceived notions that were already in place. I made it a point to myself to never assume.

I like to keep note of the saying which is "No one is right 100% of the time". I don't know where this saying is from but I've found it to be helpful whenever I've found myself jumping to conclusions because it's led to me being a bit more patient with the data I've been given.

Don't make conclusions right away! Before I concluded something, I should analyze and examine this person more. Understanding the person is the key to be able to avoid making false conclusions that will hurt other people and create problems. It's time we be quick to hear, listen, and understand people, than be quick to judge others just based on what we are seeing or the data right in front of us.

By that I mean is to take your time in understanding your surroundings and even the situation first before diving to assumptions and conclusions. Its important to make sure you hear all sides/parts before giving out any opinion, advice, or criticism about something/someone. In all honesty, it’s hard not to jump up the ladder of interference, but doing this can have huge negative impacts such as confusion and miscommunication. This all leading to a lot of damage and difficulty, possibly affecting/hurting someone’s feelings.
