It is the most useful skill I learned in K-12. The funny thing is that just taking the notes helps; I do not often refer to them. In my undergrad years, my issue was not knowing what to write down, so I either tried to write down everything or I didn't write down anything. Over the years, I've been to many professional development workshops/seminars where I've brought a notebook, but never wrote anything! In grad school, it's been easier because everything is online. I don't feel like I retain information unless I write it down and have it available to review later. My strategies have changed over the years but I always do some kind of summarizing of the key points after I have read the information for class. I have always used pen and paper, but after I created my lesson for this class, I found out about so many awesome online note-taking tools (like OneNote!) One piece of advice for students would be to include quotes in your notes that you might use later on in a paper. I will usually write down "Quote page 76, include the first few words of the quote," highlight this note, and then reference it later as needed. I liked being able to easily add sections and pages. I think this is a great way to keep notes organized. For someone who likes to make lists and mark things up, I really like the tags that can be applied as well. I don't think I would personally use the audio feature, but it's nice to have that for people who want to take voice notes. This might be a faster option for them instead of typing them. I do think OneNote is a very effective note-taking program. Notes are quickly organized with the easy to use interface. It seems like it is very quick to learn as well.

I liked being able to attach a video, and then taking notes about the video right there. I could see setting it up with one class as the section, then each week as the pages and putting links and notes and citations all right there. It helps me remember, focus, and stay engaged. I also don't like having too many windows open (even with 2 monitors). This is a great way to take notes. I have never used it before, and found your step by step instructions easy to follow. I liked how easy it was to add sections and templates. This is a great way to stay organized. I can see myself creating sections by class and then adding pages to each with notes. I am not sure I would use the video insert unless it was a video of a lecture.
