I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the journey that Maudie found herself embarking on and definitely had both happy and sad moments. The read was compelling and interesting. I loved the portrayal of a girl with autism that Pla provided in the book. I definitely recommend this book.

Ghost is a book I would recommended to myself as a child. Every kid can learn great lessons from it.

I overall did not love this book, but I think there are many pieces that I can take away to apply to my own life. I appreciated Hercules' development throughout the novel.

I thought this book was very well written and I thought it was really interesting that it was in the POV of someone so young and yet they have experienced things that many others haven't even if they are older.

I had such a great time reading this realistic fiction novel, and it is absolutely chalked full of good feels and hard-hitting emotional moments. My favorite quote comes near the end and reads, "Losing something can sure make you remember how much you loved it, even if you know you loved it all along" (pg 331).

I really enjoyed reading the novel Fighting Words by Brubaker Bradley. I thought it was very well written and understandable for a novel that deals with such tough topics of abuse and trauma. Throughout the story the characters themselves in Della and Suki show immense growth, showing that they do not have to let their past traumas define their future. Della herself grows from the child in the beginning that cannot stand to do or be without Suki, to in the end being this strong independent figure who is willing to fight in court on Suki’s behalf. I believe it is a very heartwarming story with enjoyable characters that explore the themes of growth and individual empowerment, with even characters like Francine in the end becoming more likeable and supportive of the two sisters. At times it was a tough read, but I can say truthfully that it carried great messages and that it would be a great read for anyone.

Amazing and heart wrenching book that highlights such an important topic I think needs to be discussed more often. It may help a lot of children in this world feel less alone.

This was a great book. It was very easy to read and the author made the underlying message very easy to understand. There was never a dull moment; this book always had me on my toes wanting to read more, especially with how related it is for me as I also struggled with anger problems as a kid and used violence rather than channeling my anger towards something positive. I eventually got to that point but I wish I had read this book as a kid as I think it would have helped me develop in the way that ghost did at an earlier age. Overall, great message and a great children's book!
