I think in-person classes are a great thing. As a student, I want to meet my classmates and professor. And as a TA, I want to meet my students. I also prefer in-class exams -- this forces me to remember essential formulae and theorems, have a strong grasp on concepts, and know how to work a variety of problems and proofs. And for my TA obligations, I like to have the time in the labs to go over derivations and help my students see the mathematical framework of physics and the interconnectdness of concepts.
