It must be noted, that different societies have different levels of specialization, however, all of them are affected by the ethnic, racial, class, and gender divisions of labour.

Firstly, one of the crucial aspects of the division of labor is its changeable gendered character. A gender division of labor could be defined as a range of stereotypical ideas on the social norms in the sphere of employment, categorizing different employment options as appropriate and inappropriate for specific gender identities. The most common tendencies characterizing the concept of the gender division of labor are slow and geographically uneven process of improvement, woman's underpayments and dominance of patriarchy, unpaid domestic labor as well as other examples of diffrenet types of economic inequalities. 

Secondly, racial and ethnic divisions of labor are historically rooted and inherently unequal relations between etcnicities and forms of employment. The primary use of the indicated labor divisiobs is justifications of economic exploitation and inequitable legal status and opportunities.

At the core of the division of labor at both national and international levels are economic benefits, described in the famous work of the liberal philosopher Adam Smith "The Wealth of Nations". The idea behind the concept of the division of labor was the increasement of the productivity, while the indicated increase was stated by Adam Smith to be based on the three factors: speed significantly increased by the practice, time- saving strategies, and task specialization with machinery application.

In conclusion, it was argued by Adam Smith, that if the division of labor increasement leads to the greater extent of the society development, states should take necessary actions in order to support the related policies.
