         <description><![CDATA[<div>1215<br> Men wanted the king to listen to their rights instead of him abusing his rights. they did not want the king to have taxes, or break the law himself.  King John signed the Magna  Carta because he needed the men to fight his wars and pay the taxes. The U.S constitution says that even the king has to follow the right to justice and the right to a fair trial. </div>]]></description>

They had free elections for representatives, Freedom of speech, had protection from cruel and unusual punishments.  | They are reflected in the Declaration of independence articles and confederation. It also reflected on the constitution and the Bill of Rights. They were important to the founders of the United States government because they were originally English citizens. </div>]]></description>

Colonists agreed to make their own laws, and agreed to follow them. The Mayflower Compact influenced the Constitution. John Carver was the first male elected to be in charge of the colony (Plymouth Plantation) sadly he died in less than a year. Bradford replaced him right after. </div>]]></description>
