Marji comment make to her parents that when people is fourteen they don´t need anymore their parents, the other thing she comment was she will use nailpolish and she will put her hands in the pocket if someone sees her.  My reaction is that her mom is giving her an warning for her sake and Marji didn´t care what they told her.
