My mom, my Dad, my maternal grandparents, my sister and I all went together, and the big group made it all the more fun!. We had not spent time in our house there in well ove_r a year and it was super refreshing to be out of our Mumbai home and be outdoors in the cool air and sun- we were all very excited.

We decided to drive there - with my dad driving it is a 10 hour journey which is rather long but an adventure in itself. Our trip started  at five in the morning on Monday and we reached at 3 in the afternoon - just in time for a big lunch and the siesta (as they call it there in Goa). It was a long long trip but we played games and listened to music and my Grandma told me stories on the way.

During the week we were there, my sister and I spent most of our time playing in the gardens, picking flowers and going for walks - we wanted to make the most of our time outdoors. We also played board  games, went on drives, watched movies  and got a lot of sleep. And I can't not mention the amazing fish curry- goan style- all tangy and sweet.

Sadly the trip ended on Friday and this time we decided to drive back at night which is certainly a different type of journey - dark forests, winding eerie almost empty roads, wild animals crossing, dead snakes in the middle of the road, and for a few hours fog so white and thick it could be cut with a knife!!.

Of course I made time for my reinforcement homework and my specialist assignments - trying my best to balance school work with all the fun.
