I think the biggest thing I see from the Social Studies perspective is trying to me more application based in your teaching. Instead of teaching things that can be looked up teach them things they can apply.

In the art room, the differences I see are making real world applications and connections with the local community with our projects. Also, utilizing groups more.

In math, it can be so easy to find the answer. PBL would be a way to incorporate more of an application and the why behind knowing traditional math.

PBL is more student-centered and directed. From what I understand, I guide, direct, and encourage as the student determines how they will create a representation of their learning.

My why is to inspire students to use their creativity to make things with their hands, things they can be proud of and look back and remember. I hope to inspire them to look for and notice beauty in the world even beyond their time in my classroom.

I come to school each day to try and make a difference in students lives. To help them learn and have fun growing as individuals that can contribute in our community and society.

To impact students and promote positive growth -- not necessarily knowledge, but that they are cared for and encouraged to be the best versions of themselves. A teacher once took that kind of interest in me, and I feel like I have the opportunity to do that for someone else.

I'm here to love kids, to help guide them into a future with hope, and to help them develop their own voice and have the skills and confidence to use it. I am here to help them think about and grow in their understanding of the world around them and their place in it.

I think it adds a voice to everyone in the class. Often times you just have the leaders of the class leading, this gives opportunties for other students to bring their talents to the table.

They will need to write an argument essay and then create a product that will be shared with the class.
