-The average rainfall is between 30-60 inches each year

-The average temperature is 10 cm

-The are five different zones to deciduous forests. The first is the Tree stratum zone. This zone mainly consists of maple trees, basswood, elm, chestnut hickory, beech and oak.

-These forests have very distinctive seasons (These being Summer, Autumn, winter and spring)

-Deciduous forests get their name from how all their trees loose their eaves during the winter months.

-The majority of animals hibernate in winter and gather and forage for their food in the warmer months.

-The plants in the forests have adapted to the climate by leaning and facing towards the sun

-The trees and plants are able to soak up nutrients from the rich soil
