An example of methylones are bath salts. It is considered a synthetic drug because it is not pure MDMA, it is being sold on the streets with sometimes 0% MDMA and the rest with chemicals mimicking the effects of pure MDMA, such as bath salts.

This drug effects the chemical balance of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin within the brain. The imbalance of these chemicals in the brain can cause dangerous effects on the body. This includes increase in heart rate and blood pressure, change in body temperature, and change in mental health. This can lead to liver, kidney, and/or heart failure and also cause suicidal thoughts.

Unfortunately, a night of singing and dancing turned bad due to this synthetic drug.
