Whichever Native American tribe resisted the reservations, the army was sent to kill them. Chief Joseph surrendered, and Jeronimo was forced on a reservation. Chief Sitting Bull was killed at the massacre at wounded knee. Soon the Dawes act was in action which means that the reservation lands for the Native Americans were being sold and the government hadn’t kept their word. The government was not justified.
