Kansas, which was made a state in 1861, is considered the center of the country. One of its nicknames is "the Heart of America." Thanks to the Wizard of Oz, many non Kansans (and some Kansans as well) think of it as a place from which to escape; however, there are a lot of great places to visit. With a little exploration, you can find the Western meadowlark (state bird), or the Aigeiros tree (state tree). Two of Kansas’ amazing surprises.

Oklahoma’s state bird is the scissortailed flycatcher The State’s tree is the Redbud tree. This state was “born” in November 16, 1907. It is the 49th state made. The governor of Oklahoma is Mary Fallin. The nickname of the state in the Sooner State Oklahoma got it's name from the Indians.

Arkansas Became a state on June 15, 1836. It was the 25th state made . "the half way point." Arkansas has always had a fun way of expressing how beast it is. A fact for today is that Arkansas will be the best part of our trip. In Arkansas our state tree is the Pinus Taeda and our bird is the Mocking bird.
