Christine Jorgensen was know as a singer, actor and a transgender activist. She was the first person really know for being transgender and getting reassignment surgery. She was one of the first US citizens to openly and publicly come out as transgender and to go through a gender-swap reassignment surgery. She passed on May 3rd 1989 from lung and bladder cancer but her amazing story will always be remembered.
